Story of Cohana
Cohana is a premium Japanese brand launched in 2016 to celebrate the country’s rich local industries and traditional craftsmanship. Drawing on decades of expertise, it creates high‑quality handmade tools that combine ease of use and functionality with imaginative, beautiful designs.
Cohana targets both dedicated handicraft enthusiasts and people who appreciate thoughtfully designed everyday stationery. The brand’s philosophy is to honour the skills and wisdom passed down through generations; by showcasing artisanship from across Japan in each product, Cohana aims to revitalise local production areas and help special techniques continue to thrive.
Its name comes from the Japanese deity Konohana sakuyahime, a beautiful goddess associated with cherry blossoms and worshipped as a guardian of Mt. Fuji.
In addition to adopting five colours inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics, Cohana works closely with craftsmen throughout the country—in February 2024 it had collaborated with about 48 local industries.
